Healthy eating doesn't have to mean a complete overhaul of how you eat. Some of the biggest changes come from small habits, repeated consistently. Here are five I try to live by, and that I'd love for you to try this week.

1. Start Your Day with Fruit

However your morning goes, try to include a serving of real fruit early on, whether that's a banana on the side or a full açaí bowl. Fruit gives you fiber, vitamins, and steady energy to start the day, instead of a sugar spike and crash from something processed.

2. Swap One Snack a Day

You don't need to overhaul your whole pantry overnight. Start by swapping just one snack a day, chips for fresh fruit, candy for granola and berries. Small, repeatable swaps add up fast over a week.

3. Read the Ingredient List, Not Just the Label

"Healthy" claims on packaging can be misleading. A quick glance at the ingredient list tells you a lot more: the fewer, more recognizable the ingredients, the better. This is the same reason I keep my açaí base unsweetened, with no fillers or added sugar.

4. Add Color to Every Meal

Different colored fruits and vegetables bring different nutrients to the table. A colorful plate (or bowl!) is usually a more nutrient-dense one. Think strawberries, blueberries, kiwi, and pineapple, not just for looks, but for the range of vitamins and antioxidants they bring.

5. Plan One Healthy Meal Ahead of Time

You don't need to meal-prep your whole week. Just plan one healthy meal or snack ahead of time so it's easy to reach for when you're busy or hungry. That one small bit of planning removes the "what's easiest" decision that usually leads to less healthy choices.

None of these habits require perfection, just consistency. Pick one to focus on this week, and build from there. That's exactly how Acai Delicacy started: one small, intentional choice at a time.
